Program Description

The Longfellow Club / ZipZone - ACEing Autism

Each week participants will work on different fundamentals of the game of tennis. Participants will have an opportunity to increase their social skills through taking turns, working in teams, and following instructions. Activities each week will include:

  • Warm-up
  • Forehand/backhand hits
  • Ball handling & racket drills
  • Hand eye coordination activities
  • Group games

We will provide racquets and all equipment. Participants should wear athletic clothing and sneakers and bring water. We ask that parents/caregivers be responsible for assisting with any toileting or self-care if necessary.

Dates

Sunday, January 22nd through Sunday, May 6th

Group 1: Ages 10 & under, 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm in the ZipZone
Group 2: Ages 11 & up, 2:00 pm - 2:50 pm in the Longfellow Tennis Club Main Building

*No class Feb 19th, April 8th, April 15th, and April 22nd in observance of holidays and school vacations
